About the project

This project will enhance refuge and breeding habitat to support current known populations of threatened frogs, including the Green and Golden and Growling Grass Frogs. Works will support breeding to increase frog distribution and numbers within the project area.

Three ‘frog bog’ wetlands will be constructed adjacent to the Lower Heart Morass on private property. Recent and historic Bell Frog Surveys show the Lower Heart Morass is a key area on known occupancy and breeding events of both threatened frog species.

Greening Australia will lead the delivery of this project working in partnership with Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation NRM Crew, contractors and landholders.
