Gippsland Lakes is home to two nationally threatened frogs – the Growling Grass and Green and Golden Bell frogs.
About the project
This project delivers monitoring of threatened frog species within the Gippsland Lakes Ramsar site.
Green and Golden Bell frogs and Growling Grass frogs are two nationally threatened Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (EPBC) listed species found within fringing freshwater wetlands of the Gippsland Lakes Ramsar site.
This project:
- Conducts targeted surveys of the threatened frog populations using the Gippsland Lakes Frog Monitoring Framework.
- Assesses the Limits of Acceptable Change for frog distribution and breedign events.

This project is funded by the Australian Government Natural Heritage Trust and delivered by East Gippsland CMA, a member of the Commonwealth Regional Delivery Partners panel.
