About the project
This project monitors waterbirds, shorebirds and colonial nesting species across the Gippsland Lakes Ramsar Site and adjoining areas.
This project:
- Monitors the abundance and diversity of waterbird species as a measure of wetland health across a variety of mega habitats within the Gippsland Lakes.
- Collects and reviews data to show current and long-term trends in population, diversity and recruitment of waterbirds species across the Gippsland Lakes.
- Assesses the Limit of Acceptable Change for Waterbird Abundance and Breeding.
