About the project
Past projects have identified priority wetlands in this area.
This project will build on past knowledge and:
- Assess the condition of 10 wetlands fringing Jones Bay using the Index of Wetland Condition Assessment and prior wetland prioritisation planning.
- Enhance and improve existing vegetation through weed control and plantings.
- Enhance habitat values for wildlife such as the Green and Golden Bell Frog and Australasian Bittern and migratory shorebirds.
- Monitor sites to help improve our understanding of current wetland management.
